The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank, with the support of the Western Balkans Investment Framework, have the honour to invite you to the Transport Investment Summit, hosted by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation of the Hellenic Republic, to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 17 and 18 June 2026.
The Summit is a high-level policy and investment platform aimed at strengthening the investment environment for transport infrastructure, with particular emphasis on the extension and timely delivery of the TEN-T network in the Western Balkans, Ukraine, and the Republic of Moldova.
It will bring together Ministers, EU representatives, international financial institutions, and leading private-sector actors to advance a shared understanding of priorities, constraints, and practical solutions.
We are pleased to inform you that H.E. Mr Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, as well as the Ministers in charge of transport from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo *, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova and Greece, have already confirmed their participation.
The Summit will focus on promoting mature and bankable projects, improving donor coordination, and enhancing the mobilisation of private capital and expertise. It will also provide strategic guidance on access to EU-backed financing instruments, notably through the Western Balkans Investment Framework, and will address structural bottlenecks related to project preparation, regulatory frameworks, and cross-border implementation.
