The Hellenic Association of Design Firms (SEGM) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1981 and represents Greek companies whose main activity is the provision of design and consulting services in the planning, design and implementation of technical and development projects and programs of the public and private sector in Greece and abroad.
The main objectives of SEGM are:
- the defence and safeguarding of the professional rights of its members,
- the continuous improvement of the conditions of practice of its members,
- the continuous development and expansion of the activities of its members,
- promoting cooperation between its members,
- the promotion of the project of its members to the community and
- the continuous improvement of the scientific level of its members.
The sovereign body of the Association is the General Assembly of its members, which is convened at least once a year, during the month of December. The Association shall be governed by the Board of Directors, which shall be elected every two years and shall consist of nine (9) full members and two (2) alternate members.
To date, the Presidents of the SEGM have been Yannis Stavrakas (1982-1985), Vassilis Vavaroutas (1986-87), Grigoris Drettas (1988-1991 and 1996-97), Dimitris Fessas (1992-1993), Konstantinos Tzanos (1994-1995), Panos Panagopoulos (1998-2001), Charis Mylonas (2002-2003), Panagiotis Antonaropoulos (2004-2007), Petros Petrakopoulos (2008-2011), Andreas Loukatos (2012-2013), George Kazos (2014-2015), Konstantinos Kalergis (2016-2019), Panagis Toniolos (2020-2021), Despina Kallidromitou (2022-2023). In January 2024 Despina Kallidromitou was elected President again. SEGM is a member and representative of Greece in the InternationalFederation of Consulting Engineers(FIDIC) and the European Federation of Consulting Engineers Associations(EFCA). It is also a member of theFederation of Enterprises and Industries(SEV).
